Solutions for Financial Inclusion
In 2014, the Colombian Government authorized the creation of the Specialized Companies in Electronic Deposits and Payments (SEDPEs), whose objective is to facilitate financial inclusion and reduce the use of cash due to its high transaction costs through different technological products that will reach the most remote populations in the country.
One of these companies is Pagos GDE SA, which arrives on the market with its Powwi brand, the new way of managing your money, decreasing the use of cash as a traditional means of payment and increasing financial inclusion rates. This leads to great challenges in terms of digital and financial education, challenges that if overcome will significantly improve the quality of life of our customers and users.
Digital and Financial Challenge
Financial institutions in general have significant challenges around the security of information that is necessary to ensure that their users' transactions are made in a reliable manner, as well as the availability and reliability of these systems to allow users to perform such movements at any time and place.

The constant technological changes mean that financial institutions are increasingly evaluating mechanisms that allow them to be more agile operationally, responding to the needs and requirements of the financial consumer.
"The development of technology in recent years has favored the emergence of new capabilities to use information and data. This is especially interesting for financial institutions, which have discovered in recent years new ways of interacting with their customers and dealing with their information. " said Mónica Patiño, Manager of Servinformación.
Customized financial transformation
Servinformación designed a solution based on the cloud, through the Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with the aim of guaranteeing the security of users, offering permanent availability and ensuring the agility to carry out their transactions.
Google's solutions for this type of entities guarantee a robust security that allows the information to travel encrypted from the beginning of the transaction to the end, avoiding leakage of information and data from the financial consumer.
Additionally, the flexibility offered by these management schemes in the cloud allows the company to focus on the development of new products in its financial core, as is the service currently provided through Powwi, which was left aside. the administration of a physical infrastructure.
Servinformación's work focused on designing a reliable, friendly and easily administrable solution that allows the penetration and consolidation of the Powwi brand in the market.
Servinformación worked hand in hand with Pagos GDE SA for the implementation of best practices for the deployment of the financial solution on Google Cloud Platform. For this specific solution, use Load Balancing in different regions offered by Google Cloud Platform, for databases and applications which are based on Compute Engine. The architecture also has secure channels through Cloud VPN that intercommunicate the application, development environments and third-party providers. For the implementation of this model, we have the GCP Identity Access Management for people and the Firewall Rules for communications between the different components.
