Payments GDE SA

Solutions for Financial Inclusion
In 2014, the Colombian Government authorized the creation of Specialized Companies in Electronic Deposits and Payments (SEDPEs), whose objective is to facilitate financial inclusion and reduce the use of cash due to its high transaction costs through different technological products. that will reach the most remote populations of the country.
One of these companies is Pagos GDE SA, which hits the market with its Powwi brand, the new way of managing your money, reducing the use of cash as a traditional means of payment and increasing financial inclusion rates. This leads to great challenges in terms of digital and financial education, challenges that, if overcome, will significantly improve the quality of life of our customers and users.
Digital and Financial Challenge
Financial institutions in general have important challenges around the security of the information that is necessary to guarantee that the transactions of their users are made in a reliable way, as well as the availability and reliability of these systems to allow users to carry out such movements at any time and place.

The constant technological changes make financial institutions increasingly evaluate mechanisms that allow them to be more agile operationally responding to the needs and requirements of the financial consumer.
“The development of technology in recent years has favored the emergence of new capabilities to use information and data. This is especially interesting for financial institutions, which have discovered in recent years new ways of relating to their clients and of treating their information ”.

Tailor made financial transformation
Servinformacion designed a cloud-based solution, through Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with the aim of guaranteeing the security of users, offering permanent availability and ensuring agility for carrying out their transactions.
Google's solutions for these types of entities guarantee robust security that allows information to travel encrypted from the beginning of the transaction to the end, avoiding leaks of information and data from the financial consumer.
Additionally, the flexibility offered by these cloud management schemes allow the company to focus on the development of new products in its financial core, as well as the service provided through Powwi, which is currently being put aside. the administration of a physical infrastructure.
Servinformación's work focused on designing a reliable, friendly and easily administrable solution that allows the penetration and consolidation of the Powwi brand in the market.
Servinformación worked hand in hand with Pagos GDE SA for the implementation of best practices for the deployment of the financial solution on Google Cloud Platform. For this specific solution, use Load Balancing in different regions offered by Google Cloud Platform, for databases and applications which are based on Compute Engine. The architecture also has secure channels through Cloud VPN that intercommunicate the application, development environments and third-party providers. For the implementation of this model, the GCP Identity Access Management for people is used and the Firewall Rules for communications between the different components.
